How To Move an iGoogle Homepage from One Account to Another

The iGoogle homepage features the Google Search box and a bunch of gadgets. Computer users that have set iGoogle as their homepage took the time to customize it; they selected the gadgets they want to see, they selected the theme that suits their tastes and so on. Now imagine that one of these computer users created another Google account. To get the same iGoogle homepage for this new account, he would have to once again take the time to customize it. Or, he could export their original iGoogle homepage settings then import them to the new account.

Here is what you have to do to export an iGoogle homepage from one Google account to another:

Step 1. First of all you need to sign into your Google account (the one with the already customized homepage).

Step 2. On the iGoogle homepage, click the My Account link from the top right hand corner of the screen.

Step 3
. On the Google Accounts page, look at the My Products section. Click the Settings link next toiGoogle.

Step 4. On the iGoogle Settings page, scroll down to the Export/Import section at the bottom. Click Export-> save the .xml file anywhere you’d like.

Step 5. Sign out of this account and sign into the new Google account (the one without the customized iGoogle Homepage).

Step 6. Click My Account-> click the Settings link next to iGoogle -> scroll down to the Export/Importsection. Now click the Browse button under Import iGoogle settings from a file -> select the .xml file you exported earlier -> click Upload.

The upload should take but a second. Once the process is complete, go to your iGoogle homepage. You will see that the iGoogle homepage you’ve painstakingly customized is now available in your new Google account.
