“We want copying and pasting content within Google Docs to just work. So we’re launching a new web clipboard that improves copy and paste in Google Docs. This new clipboard temporarily stores items you’ve copied in the cloud, then allows you to paste them with proper formatting into other Google Docs,” explained Software Engineer with Google Docs, Ben Margolin.
Say you just created a table in Google Spreadsheet. In this table you listed something you would like to share with your friends or colleagues via a Google presentation. Simply select the cells that interest you and copy them. This is possible thanks to the new clipboard menu. Then go to your Google presentation, select the cells from the web clipboard and paste them.
“The new web clipboard lets you copy content between documents, spreadsheets and presentations more easily and with improved fidelity, and this is just our first step. Note that while items in your web clipboard are available across browsers and across sessions, they do expire after a month. We hope you find these changes useful,” added Ben Margolin.
Now in case you are a complete newbie and do not know how to cut, copy and paste, we’ve got you covered. Head over to our How To section and you will find a tutorial there entitled How To Cut, Copy and Paste in Windows. The tutorial should make things crystal clear.
