How to Use Twitter Hashtags for Business?

In your small business' case, you may choose to attach a hashtag, such as #smallbiz, or even your brand's name itself, as #nike might do. This improves the chance that other Twitter users will find your tweet in targeted Twitter searches. But hashtags also streamline your own processes. For instance, you may ask users to include a unique hashtag in their own tweets as part of your newest Twitter marketing campaign. Throughout your campaign, the hashtag files tweets for easy search and organization within Twitter.com.

Now that you're familiar with the basic hashtag concept, let's apply principles specific to small businesses. Follow these five tips to improve your brand's hashtag strategy.

1. Seek business-specific conversations. If you use Twitter for nothing else, use it to learn from others. Head to hashtags like #SMB or #smallbiz for advice, resources and current news of the small business variety (also follow along during Twitter chats). Although broad hashtags like these can generate an overwhelming number of tweets every day, tune in every so often for a quick update. A couple of scrolls down the feed could inspire your next blog post, marketing tactic or bestseller.

If you seek a more specific conversation, narrow hashtags down by topic. The #marketing hashtag contains a ton of small business-related content, as does #sales. Or take a peek in the #startups or #entrepreneurs hashtag for inspirational profiles in the space. Finally, if you're looking for tips on meeting like-minded businesspeople, try the #networking hashtag.

2. Keep it simple and consistent. When crafting hashtags for your own tweets, it's important to keep a couple rules of thumb in mind. First, keep your tags simple and direct. In a tweet about your latest blog post, which explains your company's use of finance apps, don't create a long, complex hashtag. Pair the tweet with hashtags like #apps and #SmallBiz, versus #SmallBusinessAppsandTools. Overly complicated hashtags like these are neither search-friendly nor commonly used, so your tweet will get buried quickly.

Secondly, don't weigh your tweets down with excessive hashtags. If your intention is to be thorough, a thoughtful, precise selection of 1-2 hashtags per tweet works. Seven hashtags reads like desperate marketing, and is a sure way to lose followers quickly.

3. Create your own hashtag. Hashtags are a great way to generate buzz around a marketing campaign. Domino's Pizza encouraged followers to tweet with #letsdolunch. Once the number of tweets reached 85,000, Domino's dropped prices by more than half during the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. that day.

Turn to Twitter when launching a contest, another great marketing tactic for your brand. Simply ask people to tweet with a specific hashtag when they submit ideas, jokes or photos. That way, when the entry period is over, you'll be able to easily locate submissions in one place.

Events are great opportunities for creating conversation around hashtags. Award your event a unique hashtag well before the actual date; you'll be able to generate content and discussion about the event before it even begins. (For example, Mashable created the hashtag #MashBash for one of our largest events ever, at CES 2012.) Then during the event, encourage participants to tweet with that hashtag with signage and other hashtagged swag. People in attendance both physically and via the web then will be able to follow interesting activities and discussion.

Finally, get creative. Use hashtags for Twitter chats and invite an industry expert to answer tweeted questions from your brand's followers. Or begin a game on Twitter using hashtags. For instance, ask people to tweet #PastTenseSitcoms, like "Family Mattered." It's a clever way to get people excited to connect with your hip, entertaining brand (we'd be remiss to not mention our own #Mashtags fun here).

4. Organize social dashboards by hashtag. One of the most convenient ways to stay on top of relevant hashtags is to designate easily accessible columns within your social dashboard. Whether you use HootSuite or TweetDeck, you can establish columns by social network, search term, Twitter list or hashtag.

Consider adding a small business-themed hashtag column to check whenever you have a moment. Add further columns as they become relevant, for example, when you launch a hashtag marketing campaign or contest. Then delete the column when the hashtag has run its course. -openforum.com

Tips To Help You Enter The U.S. Market

Selling to the U.S. market can be a significant milestone in the life of an international technology startup. The U.S. is the largest market in the world, and a successful foothold here can mean dramatic growth as well as further credibility of your company. But selling to U.S. businesses can be difficult especially if you’re based overseas. Having successfully introduced international technology companies to the U.S. market, we’ve learned several lessons, listed below, to help companies abroad sell in the U.S.

Find markets that are not yet saturated by your competitors.
U.S. competitors will have a geographic advantage, so pick an industry vertical, or regional market, where you can introduce your product and gain rapid traction.

Identify Early Market Signals.
Track early signals that the U.S. market is even interested in your product or service. Do you have signups on your website or requests for information from U.S. customers already? Set up a U.S. page where customers can sign up to be on a waiting list and run a basic online marketing campaign to promote it. If you see interest in your product or service from the U.S. market, you know there’s an opportunity to push further into the market.

Experiment with pricing, but don’t get caught up in a price war.
International companies often differentiate themselves from U.S. competitors by offering similar technology at a lower price. However, cheaper doesn’t always compute as better; many customers associate a lower price point with lower quality. So rather than racing your competitor to the lowest possible price point, pitch your product as providing a superior solution at a price that can actually support the growth of your company.

Get introductions from your existing clients.
Many of your customers may already operate in the U.S. and have industry contacts that could also benefit from your product or service. Ask them for introductions to new customers. Tell them you’re entering a new market, and as a long term or successful client, you’d appreciate a connection with any industry contacts that would also benefit from your solution. Asking your existing customers is an easy way to find early adopters in new markets, but a tactic that many businesses simply fail to do.

Introduction For Blogger & Adsense

If you've been thinking about monetizing your blog and are unfamiliar with how Google AdSense works, here are the three things you need to know:

1. AdSense is built into Blogger:
You can easily sign up and start showing ads on your blog, without having to leave Blogger, by clicking on the "Earnings" tab in your dashboard. After completing the AdSense application, the next step is to designate where you want the ads to appear on your blog. Once your application is approved, we’ll start serving ads and you’ll start making money. And unlike many other blogging platforms, Blogger doesn’t take a cut of your revenue.

2. AdSense serves relevant ads on your blogs:
AdSense works by matching text and image ads to your blog based on your content and the types of users that visit your site. For example, if you write about running, your readers may see ads next to your post about running shoes and equipment. Ads are created and paid for by advertisers who want to promote their products.

3. Great content is key:
Posting high quality content is the best way to maximize your returns with AdSense. It’s important to take a little extra time defining your topic, creating a post that is engaging and matters to your readers. The more interesting and appealing your content is, the more likely your readers will be to click on the ads on your blog.

This short video will also give you a quick overview of AdSense and how it works with Blogger:

Share your posts to Google+

Two of the biggest challenges we hear from bloggers are finding new followers, and engaging in a dialogue with their readers. By sharing your post to Google+, you enable an entirely new group of people to find and follow you. When you upgrade your blog to connect with Google+, the authorship information on your blog will reflect your common name as listed on your Google+ profile. You can then choose to associate certain blogs with a Page, or certain blogs with your profile. This association determines to which streams the posts will be shared once they're published.

When you publish a post, a pre-filled share box will be displayed. Select the circles that you wish to share with, add a custom message if you like, and click “Share.” Your post will then appear in either your Page or Profile’s (depending on which you’ve chosen for that specific blog) Google+ stream, as well as in the streams of those you’ve shared with.

Here’s how to get started:

This sharing option, along with future Blogger and Google+ integrations, is available to users who have linked their Google+ profile or Google+ page to their blogs so that they can blog and share to Google+ under the same common name.

To associate your blog with your Google+ page or profile, click the Google+ tab to get started.

Once you associate your blog with Google+, go ahead and write your post. After you hit Publish, you’ll see a share box inviting you to share your post with your circles on Google+. Note that the default circle is set to “Public,” but that you can modify your circles every time you choose to share.

If you don't want the share box to pop up after publishing a post, you can change the settings by going to the Google+ tab in Blogger and unchecking the check box at the bottom.

If you only want to share posts sometimes but don’t want to constantly change the setting, or if you want to retroactively share posts, you can use the “Share” option on your Posts page. Just hover over the post to view the option.

Ways to share your blog with the world

Built with the latest in web technology (AJAX, HTML5 and CSS3), Dynamic Views is a unique browsing experience that will inspire your readers to explore your blog in new ways. The interactive layouts make it easier for readers to enjoy and discover your posts, loading 40 percent faster than traditional templates and bringing older entries to the surface so they seem fresh again.

Dynamic Views is much more than just new templates. With just a couple clicks, you’ll get infinite scrolling (say goodbye to the “Older posts” link), images that load as you browse, integrated search, sorting by date, label and author, lightbox-style posts for easy viewing, keyboard shortcuts for quickly flipping through posts, and one-click sharing to Google+ and other social sites on every post.

No two blogs are the same, so you can choose from seven different views that display text and photos differently. For example, if you have lots of photos on your blog, you may prefer Flipcard or Snapshot. If your blog is more text-heavy, then Classic, Sidebar (what you’re seeing now on Blogger Buzz) or Timeslide may be preferable. Here’s a quick description of each of the new views, along with links to some of our favorite blogs where you can check each of them out in action.

  1. Classic (Gmail): A modern twist on a traditional template, with infinite scrolling and images that load as you go
  2. Flipcard (M loves M) - Your photos are tiled across the page and flip to reveal the post title
  3. Magazine (Advanced Style) - A clean, elegant editorial style layout
  4. Mosaic (Crosby’s Kitchen) - A mosaic mix of different sized images and text
  5. Sidebar (Blogger Buzz Blog) - An email inbox-like view with a reading page for quick scrolling and browsing
  6. Snapshot (Canelle et Vanille) - An interactive pinboard of your posts
  7. Timeslide (The Bleary-Eyed Father) - A horizontal view of your posts by time period

Tips for New Bloggers

I had no idea that a blog about my clothing choices would grow and become such a fun hobby! And even though I’ve been blogging for a little while, I still feel like I have so much to learn, which is what keeps blogging interesting! So, while I'm definitely far from being an expert, here are a few things that have worked for me:

1) Find a community of bloggers with similar interests. Do you like to write about video games, fashion, cooking? There are lots of great blogs on those topics already. A quick Google search for “fashion blogs” helped me round out my reading list. I always check out the blog rolls of people whose blogs I enjoy, and I also visit the blogs of folks who comment on my blog. Bottom line: interact with bloggers whose blogs you enjoy. You'll learn so much, I promise. This leads me to my next point...

2) Leave insightful comments on blogs that you enjoy - especially blogs that are in the same niche as you. Instead of just saying, "hey, nice blog, follow me please”, call out something specific that you liked about the post. Pure "followback" requests don’t really make people want to follow you.

3) Don't underestimate the importance of good pictures on your posts. The basics: Use a tripod or get a friend to photograph you if the pictures are of you. Take pictures outdoors if possible because natural light always makes pictures look better. Use post-processing (I use Picnik) to adjust the exposure, add effects, and crop to keep the focus on what you want. You don’t need a fancy camera - I use my cell phone most of the time! I wrote about this in more depth here.

4) Think about quality, rather than quantity of posts. Readers would rather see an insightful (and spell-checked!) post with original content and good pictures 2-4 times a week than hastily-written thoughts on a daily basis. Most avid blog readers follow so many blogs that if you post too often, and especially if your posts aren't high quality, you'll get passed over in favor of the other blogs on their blogroll. Plus, a great, high-quality post can continue to get you traffic for a few days - don't truncate its effectiveness by posting again the very next day.

5) Schedule your posts. I typically have a chunk of time on the weekend where I can plan out and write my 2-4 posts for the week, or at least get a rough draft in place. Blogger allows you to schedule your posts and they will automatically publish at the date/time you specify. I typically set my posts to publish around 2am to capture folks in other time zones.

How to generate Java Class files from JSON

A simple online tool which can generate Java Classes from the JSON data directly. There are little bugs in the tool. For example if the JSON data contains a space, the generator will create a variable name with space. But as per Java, you cannot have space in between variables. Other than this I found the tool good enough to generate Java classes from JSON data.

Sample JSON Data

I have written a sample JSON to test this tool. You can get the JSON from PasteBin or try this tool with your own JSON data. You can visualize the structure of your JSON using several online JSON converters. I have used JSONViewer from Stack.hu. Below is the structure of my sample JSON data.

Generating Java Class from JSON

You can use JSON Gen – Client Code generation tool from ByintonDesign.com to generate Java classes from JSON data. The best part is the you could specify your JSON Data Class name and the Package name while generating.

One small drawback is the site doesn’t have option to directly paste the JSON data. You got to specify the url containing the JSON data, one quick workaround is to use online clipboards such as PasteBin to generate URL for the data. Click on the Raw option as shown below in the paste to get the direct url.

Things That Effect You At Work

Environmental conditions in which we work will determine the quality of the results of our work. Especially for regular work with a particular condition or mood, so that a time will affect our work performance. The following

1. Noise
Noise can affect our performance in the form of hearing loss, communication disorders with speech, and hearing loss. If we work in a place that deafen ears, reduce the intensity we are in that place. Noise can be prevented by reduction at the source, placement of insulation, and use of protective equipment on the ear.

2. Lighting
The level of lighting needs are determined by the type of work we are, the more carefully / precisely what we do, the higher the level of illumination required. That must be considered is the division of turning on the instrument / lighting in this type of work, prevention of glare, light direction, color, and the heat due to light illumination.

3. Air Temperature
High temperature in our work place can cause cramps, fatigue and exhaustion due to heat stroke and miliary. Setting the room temperature with water conditioner and avoid places where heat is recommended in accordance with the adaptation of our comfort level.

4. Odoriferous
A bad odor or sting is very disturbing our work, by Therefore, we who work in places that generate expected to minimize odor by reducing our interaction in the place. The addition of fragrance into the air, closing the smell antagonist, using water jets, and the use of air conditioning can reduce them.

5. Working Time
The addition of work time> 8our/day can reduce productivity of our work. With perpekan 5 working days will not hurt our health, so we need to set the time when there is extra work (overtime). Setting a break must be adapted to the type of work.

6. Space and Employment Positions
Complaints about the living and working positions are most numerous on the back, the Tengku, knees and feet. So we have to adjust the space and the position of working with our comfortable conditions. Large companies usually have arranged the space and the best working position for employees.

7. Color
Color gives its own response to our psychology. Certain colors can make objects appear larger or closer, giving the impression of warm, giving the effect on mood, and merging some of color can give a feeling the effects of irritation.

How To Build Your PC Is Really Easy

Assemble your own computer can be really fun, and it's easier now than ever before. However, there are few moments when assembling a system, and attach a CPU fan can be one of them. The last thing you want is your new expensive processor with a bent pin, but if you do, here's how to fix it.

Build your own computer can be really easy, and gives you the most common in the customization options. If you want to try it, you try to see the guide First-Timer's Guide to Building a Computer from Scratch. However, building a system with more experience can attest to how scary it can be when you mount a CPU fan or heat sink and you're not sure how much power to put on it to make it fit.

In most cases, you get it sorted without any hassle, but in the worst case scenario, you take a fan, popping the CPU, and find your worst nightmare: a new CPU you have a group of pin that was pressed on the bottom. Thankfully, MarauderFox Instructables website shows the use of plastic cards (such as credit card or ID card,) a Swiss Army Knife, and a steady hand to fix the problem.

Just use a knife to slowly and gently to set up the pins are bent back. Then use a plastic card to make sure the pins bent into a perfect standing with all the others around him. Use cards from various angles to make sure it is perfect with the line.

Finally, the ease of the processor back into place, making sure each slide pin into the hole. If not applicable, you should be able to feel the areas that do not match and repeat the process again. It is important to be gentle, because you do not want to damage the pins by trying to bend them back and forth.

Tips to Make a Secure Password

PC, a server, a tablet, a smartphone, or any other digital device to access information, choosing strong passwords for the programs and services you use is essential. While a weak password may not always be the primary cause of IT services getting hacked, it can contribute greatly to the scope and severity of a hacking attempt.

To help you make the most secure passwords possible – both for administrators and for end-users – I’ve assembled ten bits of advice that should improve the strength and effectiveness of your passwords.

There are several third-party applications that can help you automate and enforce password policies or allows users to reset their own passwords.

1. Adopt a password change policy
One of the best defenses against stolen passwords is to frequently change the passwords being used. There’s always a balance between security on one hand and usability on the other, so forcing passwords changes too often can lead to an excessive burden on users.

2. Use caps and special characters
Passwords that consist solely of traditional text characters can be easier to guess and hack by attackers.

3. Avoid common words
It’s a tired old joke in IT circles: Many users adopt some of the most obvious and most insecure words for their passwords, ranging from the ubiquitous “password” to using their first names, name of their company, or the brand name of the monitor they were staring at when they came up with the password.

4. Enforce a minimum password length
In addition to comically simple passwords like “password” and “beer,” another common problem with many passwords are that they’re simply too short. “ABC” and “123” may be easy to remember, but they’re equally as easy for attackers to compromise.

5. Create unique passwords for each service
One of the ways that password breaches can become exponentially more damaging is if users are employing the same password on multiple services. If an attacker gains access to one service – say the corporate Facebook account – then he or she could potentially reuse that username and password combination on dozens of other cloud services.

6. Use a biometric fingerprint scanner
Biometric hardware has advanced significantly in the past few decades, so authentication methods which once seemed like science fiction – the ability to scan fingerprints, analyze typing patterns, or recognize a users facial features – are now a reality.
